October 2026 Featured Hotspot is "Petit Troit Le Valley" in Sherman Oaks, Ca.
Food Journal Magazine is proud to name Petit Trois as our October Featured Hot Spot. Pronounced "pet-ee twah," the name means "Little Three," a nod to Trois Mec, the Michelin-starred restaurant Chef Ludo Lefebvre ran next door, and the bistro at 718 N Highland Ave has carried that pedigree since 2014. The Hollywood original is a 21-seat counter facing an open kitchen, while Petit Trois Le Valley at 13705 Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks opens the doors wide with a marble bar, mint green banquettes and a chef's counter of its own. The menu honors the Paris bistro canon, from Burgundy escargots and steak frites to Ludo's signature French omelette and the famous Le Big Mec, backed by a wine list and cocktail program built around French spirits and aperitifs.
Hand-selected by Food Journal Magazine, Petit Trois shows what happens when classical training meets real neighborhood devotion, led by a Burgundy-born chef who learned under Alain Passard, Pierre Gagnaire, Marc Meneau and Guy Martin. A James Beard finalist for Best New Restaurant and a Michelin Bib Gourmand honoree, the bistro is now taking its craft to Aspen and beyond, and Los Angeles still gets it first. Our monthly Hot Spot selections are also candidates for the FJM Restaurant of the Year, and Petit Trois belongs in that conversation.
